A loan of $475 helped buying various goods.

Ami's story

Ms. Ami Boré, aged 27, is the mother of a young girl.  She resides with her maternal grandparents in Sanoubougou II, a working-class district in Sikasso City (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali).  Not having had the chance to advance at school, Ami was introduced to women's hairdressing about eleven years ago.  With such experience in this domain, she is in high demand by young ladies, especially for ceremonies (marriages, baptisms, birthdays, etc.)

The lack of her own funds for running this business has to do with the goal and justification for her loan request at the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso.  The loan is for doing better in satisfying the needs of her customers, who are ever-increasing.  Ami has had an association with Soro Yiriwaso for over two years and is on her second individual loan after having properly repaid her first one.  She is requesting this second loan to buy two wedding dresses and ten packets of hair extensions of different qualities, in Bamako (capital of Mali).

Ami envisions using this loan to make an average profit of 100,000 francs CFA, which will enable her to resolve her personal expenses, to help cover family expenses, to pay the loan interest, and to invest the rest in her business.
