Gloria Sabina's story

Gloria C., 25, is a member of the “Luz y Vida” (Light & Life) communal bank located in El Aguacate, Monay zone, Cuenca. Cuenca is in the south of the country at 2550 meters above sea level. It has many tourist attractions like the four rivers that bathe the city, its downtown architecture and its churches with fine details in marble and gold.

She is married and has four children who are 9, 8, 6, and 5 years of age; all are in the local school. Her husband is a mechanic and has his own shop. Thanks to the couple’s efforts, they have managed to build their own house.

Gloria has an electrical supplies store located next to the electric company. She has been in operation for 5 years and is open from 8am to 6pm.
Thanks to support from the communal bank she’s been a member of for 8 cycles, she has managed to stay in business.

She will use the new loan to buy wire, plugs, switches, bulb holders, etc. to stock her store with everything necessary.

Her goal is to go to high school and get a high school diploma.
