Khayal's story

Mr. Khayal is a 30-year-old married man . He is a farmer. He lives with his family in Saatli, situated in the central part of Azerbaijan. He and his brother (he is pictured) started his business in 1995, when he purchased one cow with money he had saved up. The work is hard, but interesting, and takes a lot of effort. Khayal buy calves, breeds them, then cuts and sells them to the butcher in the local big market.

However, the salary is not enough to cover all of Khayal’s family expenses. To increase the profit margin from his sales, Khayal needs to invest some money to make his small herd, bigger. This summer he applied for $1,000 to buy four calves. He hopes this will eventually expand his business.
