A loan of $475 helps to buy fruit and vegetables to start her grocery business.

Margaret's story

Margaret is a self-driven woman who lives by the standards of greatness. She is a 43-year-old mother of one child who farms in Nyeri, a place where every Kiva lender would like to be and enjoy the beautiful climate, observing the Great Mount Kenya and other staggering hills in the region. Margaret is a dairy and crop farmer, who believes she has what it takes to make a difference in her remote village and on her farm.

Margaret has realized that there is a gap between the producers of fruit and vegetables and the consumers. She wants to bridge this gap by opening a grocery store. Margaret is requesting this loan to buy fruit and vegetables to start her grocery business. She will use her market knowledge to fix a good market price for her products. The additional profits she will earn will be saved for the education of her children, as well as for the repayment of her loan. Margaret will also help other farmers in her area, since she will create a good market for their commodities. Employment will therefore be created in her village. This can only come true as a result of the goodwill of the lenders. Kindly lend to this industrious woman today!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
