A loan helped to buy fertilizers and chemicals for her plantation.

'Akanesi's story

'Akanesi and her husband live together with her husband's family. They still have no children, and currently they are running a plantation business. Her father-in-law offered them a piece of land where they can grow their own crops and try to be independent.

In their plantation, they grow cassava, yams, and also taro. 'Akanesi helps her husband in hoeing their plantation and also she is the one doing the marketing. She spends every Saturday marketing their crops, and they are making good money from it.

Their target plan is to be able to save enough money to build their own house where they can move to and feel free. She is applying for a loan to buy fertilizers and chemicals for their plantation.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
