A loan helped to purchase more bales of used clothes to sell.

Oretha's story

This is 36-year-old Oretha. She lives with her partner along with four children, all of whom are still schooling and live at home.

Oretha is a strong business woman who sells used clothes. She got her start-up capital from her partner, and her mother taught her how to sell. She sells six days a week and has been operating her sales for eight years now. Her business was hard hit due to the COVID-19 crisis.

In order to continue her business, Oretha has asked for a loan to enable her to purchase more bales of used clothes to sell again to her good clients. Her hope for the future is to improve her business and build a house. She wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
