Maricel's story

Maricel A. is from the village of Poblacion 1, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She is 29 years old. Maricel is married and has two school-aged children. To make a living she sells plastic ware like Tupperware as well as Avon and Fullerlife products in the local community. She has been engaged in her business for over three years and earns approximately $450 a month from these activities.

In 2006, Maricel joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 50,000 PHP from GDMPC. Maricel is requesting a new loan of 50,000 PHP which will be used to invest in expanding the business. This will be her 18th loan from GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
