A loan helped to buy mulberry in order to make more tapas.

Laumanu's story

This is Laumanu. She is a 46 years old mother of six grown children. Her husband works as a security guard, and they live in their own home. Laumanu joins a group of women in their village, and together they make tapas once in a week. She also self-decorates her tapas with different designs, then she sells her tapas at the local market to earn money for her family.

Laumanu's business contributes a lot to providing for their family, because they are living together with their six grown children and her husband's wages cannot cover for all their expenses. She applies for a loan to buy mulberry for her tapa making business.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
