A loan helped to buy some fabric for her sewing business and also some materials to help with her plantation.

Kelela's story

Kelela is 47 years old and a mother of seven children. Five of them are currently attending school. They all live together in the home they own. There are 11 of them all together living there.

She's currently running her sewing business and also managing her plantation. This is her 10th loan and she requested this loan from SPBD to have capital money for her businesses - to buy materials for her sewing and also some resources that are needed in her plantation.

On her plantation, Kelela and her husband grow pineapple when it's in season and sell at it the market but her main business is sewing. She's self-employed and is able to sew different styles for her customers. Kelela sometimes faces challenges on their plantation such as the thieves who steal their pineapples. When she earns her income, she helps her family with their living costs and also does loan repayments.

She's saving so she can reach her goal for the future of her business. She's also dreaming of a better education for her children in the future. Help Kelela in living her dream by lending her your money.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
