05_Hawka Group's story

Created in July 2020, this agricultural group has 10 members, all men. These members live in the same village and are united by ties of friendship and solidarity. Their primary business is rain based agriculture. They are on their first loan. Hawka, 59 years old, who represents the group is married and the father of four children, one of whom is a boy. He is in the photo. The other members of the group are not present in the photo because of social distancing. Hawka, grows corn and peanuts destined for consumption and for sale.
With this loan he plans to buy peanut and corn seed and fertilizer to farm his field. This year he plans to cultivate 1 hectare of peanuts. After the harvest, he is going to sell a portion of his production at the local market at a good price, hoping to gain better income, and the other part is put in the barn for the family. The profits from this will serve to support the family expenses and to cover the schooling and health of the children.
