A loan helped to pay for her second academic year at the state university, where she is studying economics.

Lana's story

Lana is 19 years old and is from Tbilisi city, where she lives with her parents and brother.

Lana decided to apply for a student loan, as she studies at the State University and has no opportunity to meet the educational expense of the second academic year.

Student loans are the joint project of Kiva and its field partner, Credo Bank, giving Georgian students the chance to get an education. Lana studies economics and wants to find a stable and well-paying job with her profession.

Lana hopes she will have a good wage after graduating with a Baccalaureate degree, so she can create financial stability for her family.

This loan is special because:

It allows low-income students to pursue education and find jobs before repaying.
