A loan of $900 helped purchase of fertilizer, and hiring workers.

Leonor's story

Leonor is an exemplary woman with a lot of desire to get ahead. She is 48-years-old and lives with Elias, who is 56-years-old. Together they have six children, and live with two of them in their own home. For more than 30 years, she and her husband have grown crops such as avocadoes, plantains, pineapple, and coffee. She really enjoys the tranquility of her farmhouse, but taking care of her crops can be very burdensome, since she has to weed her fields. Together with her farming, she prepares a variety of dishes which she sells from her house, and in this way she generates additional income, along with what she earns farming. Thanks to that income, she could buy her things, cover the educational costs of her children, and pay her household costs. This is why she is thinking about finishing building her house and putting in a restaurant in the future, and she would also like to plant more coffee and plantains.

This is her sixth loan with MFP, and she is very thankful for the trust that they continue to place in her. This motivates her to continue working actively with her group. With the loan she requests, she will buy bags of fertilizer, and also hire laborers who will help her maintain her crops, and she would also like ot buy some materials such as bamboo and nails to fix her house.
