A loan helped to buy a solar-powered freezer system that will help her improve the income in her grocery business.

Lourdes's story

Lourdes lives in the community of Colon in Honduras. She is 44 years old, and for a number of years, has made a living raising cattle along with her husband. She is a very enterprising woman, and this is the reason that now, through her own efforts, she has a small business where she sells food and other basic consumer products.

With the goal of expanding her business, she has incorporated the sales of dairy products, meat, soft drinks, ice, and other products that require refrigeration. But currently she has a limitation because there is no electric power in the area where Lourdes and her family live. On account of this fact, she has to stock up and keep these products in coolers, which comes at a high cost since she also has to buy fuel every day to operate a gas-powered generator. This cost is reflected in her profits.

For this reason, she is requesting this loan from Soluz Honduras to buy a solar-powered freezer that will help her better serve her customers, and most importantly, she'll no longer have to spend money on ice or travel long distances to buy it. This way, her business will increase its profits and her customers will be satisfied.
