A loan of $1,075 helped buy natural and chemical fertilizers to take care of her crops.

Edith's story

Edith, age 28, lives with her life partner and their small daughter. They live together in the Ayacuchan jungle in a small place where they have their own house.

Facing the different obstacles that present themselves in life, she decided to start producing and selling cacao. Every day she is improving her sales. She is aware that she needs to increase her production and the quality of her products. That is why she always takes care of her crops.

She generally works from seven in the morning until six in the evening. She almost always receives help from her husband. But, during planting or harvesting season she hires laborers to help extract her products in an efficient manner.

Her plan for the future is to get a greater quantity of fields in order to produce in large volumes. She knows very well that coffee is a product that is sought after on a national and international level.

This is her fourth loan with MFP, and she pledges to keep making her payments punctually. Also, she says that she feels satisfied because her communal bank works with responsibility. She will use the money to provide adequate maintenance to her coffee crop. She will buy fertilizer and supplies to improve the quality of her products.
