A loan of $375 helped to buy soft drinks and snacks.

Hilda's story

Hilda, 43, is married to Rolando, 46, and they have 3 children. They live together in a cozy home that they own, located in a commercial neighborhood of the city of Santa Ana. Her occupation is preparing "caldo de gallina" (chicken boiled in pieces with potatoes, vegetables and noodles), pancakes, coffee and various foods of the area that are much sought after by discerning diners. Her husband, on the other hand, works in public transportation using a motocar (light 3-wheeled passenger vehicle) that he owns. In this way, together they can cover the household expenses and pay for the education and basic needs of their children. She has 23 years of experience selling food in the evenings from a food cart that she positions near a bus stop. In addition, she has 3 motocars that they rent to third parties, and with all of these sources of income they live comfortably. As she is a businesswoman, she wants to set up a bar in her home. Her main wish is to have a pollería (chicken restaurant), that she could run along with her husband and sons. This is the first time that she has had a loan from MFP, and she is very enthusiastic about belonging to a communal group that is so well organized. In addition, she pays attention to the decisions made by the members of her group. With the loan requested, she will buy soft drinks and some snacks.
