A loan of $550 helped to buy food and candy to supply her stand.

Benedicta's story

Benedicta is a hard-working woman who, like her husband Javier, is 50 years old. They have 4 children together, but only one still lives with them, in the house they own. Despite diverse family and financial problems, she found the strength to forge ahead. For this reason, three years ago, she started selling a variety of refreshments along with egg and cheese sandwiches and hamburgers. Meanwhile, her husband works as a moto-taxi driver. With these activities, they manage to bring in 45.00 Peruvian soles each day, and with this income they support the education of their youngest child and pay for their household expenses.

The aspect she enjoys most about her work is selling her products. She offers samples of her food as a marketing strategy. For now, she wants to prioritize by purchasing edible products and sweets to supply her stand, since she conducts her business in an ambulatory manner. This is her sixth credit with MFP. She feels her progress began once she started working with the other members, who she respects and values a great deal. She is an active participant in the group. She will use the loan she is requesting to buy candy, cookies, sweets, and sodas.
