A loan helped a member to buy more meat for her butcher shop.

Intambwe Adv Group's story

Redempta is 33 years old and married with three children aged between two and nine years. Her husband is in motorcycle transport. For the past ten years she has been selling meat in a butcher shop.

Redempta is the leader of the twelve-member group Intambwe Adv, which in English means “The Step.” Group members sell different items and own a variety of businesses. Due to the global pandemic, Urwego was not able to photograph all the group’s members, but it was able to get one representative for the group photo.

Redempta will use her portion of this loan to buy more meat for her butcher shop to meet customer demand in her community. She will put away some savings with the profits from her sales.
