Mpipi Group's story

Annamaria is 34 years old and married. She is the adoptive mother of five nieces and nephews. Annamaria sells birds (chickens, turkeys and ducks), water, soft drinks and cake. She has been in business for five years. She works from 7am until 9pm each day and earns about $215 per month. With her loan, Annamaria plans to pay the school fees for one of her children who is entering Senior 5 year.

This will be Annamaria's second Motisha loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. A Motisha loan is a product offered by Tujijenge Tanzania that allows borrowers with good credit ratings to pay back their original loans faster and receive extra money before their original loan term has ended. Annamaria will share this loan with all 17 members of the Mpipi (Sweet) Group. Group members will hold each other accountable for repaying the loan.
