Dubai Group's story

Imanuel is 47 years old and married with three children. His eldest child is 28 years old and married. His other children are 19 and 8 years old and they go to school. For five years, Imanuel has run a micro-business as a groundnut vendor. He works from 5pm-10pm each evening, selling to commuters during the busy evening rush hour. This is Imanuel's first loan from Tujijenge Tanzania, and he will use it to increase his stock of nuts. This should allow him to increase sales and profits.

Imanuel is one of 10 members of the Dubai group. The members run diverse businesses including carpentry, food sales and charcoal sales. The members of the group will hold each other accountable in paying back the loan. In the picture, Imanuel is wearing a blue shirt.
