Javier Del Cristo's story

Javier Del Cristo is a 45-years-old micro entrepreneur who lives with his partner and 2 children in the city of Barraquilla. He owns a restaurant business and has more than 20 years of experience doing this job. He offers lunches and fast food in his business.

Since very young age Javier Del Cristo learnt the job from his colleagues in the industry. He used to sell prepared meals in a door-to-door fashion. He gradually grew his customer base and specialized himself in delivering larger quantities to restaurants and hotels in the city center. Working Monday to Sunday he managed to help his family finances and now he sees the the fruit of his sacrifice.

Customers of Javier Del Cristo are construction companies, local merchants, general public from the neighborhood and private customers. Due to the global pandemic of Covid-19 and questions of bio-security his business volume has decreased and his income has dropped dramatically.

Javier Del Cristo is nevertheless getting his business operational again and it is for this reason that he is asking for his first Kiva loan with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. The goal is to invest it in paying the rent, invoices from his suppliers and in the purchase of inputs such as beef, chicken and pork meat, flour, cheese and vegetables. All this so that he can serve clients at their homes. Support him in his business loan.
