Amelia's story

Amelia is 49 years old and married. She has five children and lives with her family in Dili, the capital city of East-Timor. For four years, she has been earning a living by making and selling traditional Portuguese bread. She has the business set up in her house.

She wants to stock her business and has decided to request a loan from KIVA field partner KIF, in the amount of $300 to purchase flour, cream, sugar, milk, butter, eggs, salt, margarine, and other ingredients, in order to make more traditional bread. With the loan, she hopes to have a larger inventory to make bread and offer a variety of products to her customers. Her goals are to grow her business, satisfy her customers, and give her family a better quality of life.
