A loan helped a member to buy more avocados and tomato trees to sell.

Hirwa Cb Group's story

Janne is 56 years old, married, and has eight children between 8 and 37 years old. For the past five years she has been selling fruit.

Janne is the leader of the group called Hirwa Cb, which means “People with Good Luck.” Group members sell different items and own a variety of stores.

In Janne’s case, she will use her share of the loan to buy more avocados and tomato trees to sell. With the profits from her sales, she will put away some savings.

Janne, along with the other group members, appreciates the lenders for permitting this opportunity to grow their businesses and better their lives for themselves and their families.

Due to the global pandemic, Urwego was not able to photograph all the members, but Urwego was able to get Janne's photo. As the group's president, she will represent the rest of the group.

In this group: Janne, Jacqueline, Therese, Primitive, Colette, Anonciatta, Francine, Gaudence, Triphine, Eugenie, Solange, Marie, Godelive, Venantie, Adija, Euphrasie, Nathalie, Julienne, Angelique, Donatille, Francoise, Christine, Hawa, Edithe, Esperanse
