Benkadi Group's story

Cheickné raises sheep in a rural commune of Mali. He is 55 years old, uneducated, married, and the father of five (5) children, ages 8 to 15, all of whom are in school. Due to lack of working capital, Cheickné has sought assistance from RMCR, a micro-finance institution, so that he can take care of his children's schooling, health, and hygiene. His wife is a housekeeper.

Cheickné expects to realize a profit of 80,000 FCFA from his sales. With financial assistance from this institution, Cheickné will buy cattle at the weekly fairs and in the surrounding villages. He will then raise them on his farm and make a profit when they are sold.

Cheickné wants to become a major farmer in his commune in the days to come so that he can independently take care of his children.

NOTE: Because of COVID-19, he is the only one in the photo.
