Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $575 helped to buy fertilizers, fungicides and other farm supplies.

Ludis Antonio's story

Ludis Antonio G. V., 30, lives with his life partner and their 5 minor children in Lomas de Gavilan, Ticuantepe. His children are all students and the family has farmed manioc for over 20 years now.

His future plans include building his house but cash flow problems have kept him from reaching this goal.

They are asking for funds to buy farm supplies that will allow for better care of their farmlands so that crop yields will be better. This will be favorable for them because it will produce capital to be used in future projects, including building their house.

This investment will greatly improve the family’s standard of living, especially for the youngsters because living conditions will be better and to the great satisfaction of the parents for being able to provide a more prosperous future.
