María Reina's story

María Reina G. D. G., age 47, lives in San Francisco Goteras in the Morazán department. She has a restaurant, and she makes different typical foods for breakfast and lunch. The restaurant is located in the central park, and it is called The Overisco.

María lives with her husband; he sells firewood. She also lives with her daughter-in-law, who helps her in the restaurant, and her small grandson. The grandson goes to school. María works from Monday through Saturday making breakfasts and lunches. She sells them to local people and to workers who work in the surrounding areas. She is a very well-known woman in the area because she makes delicious food and offers very good service.

María is requesting a loan to be able to buy rice, corn, beans, meat, vegetables, and other things. These are the ingredients to make the food.

She has a great desire to get ahead and to prosper even more in her business. She wants to do this to be able to live a better way with her family.
