Armando's story

Armando is 39 years old, rents a home with his partner Herlinda and children. They consider him an honest and hardworking man who is willing to improve his family’s standard of living through his efforts and perseverance. He has been farming for 25 years. As far as working on rented land he grows potatoes, peas, and gladiolas. Since he makes enough profits with this activity it helps him continue with raising cows, llamas, pigs, and donkeys. Farming is his favorite activity, however he has trouble carrying heavy sacs filled with his products. He says, “it is nice having a plentiful crop, but to transfer it to the market is very difficult.” That is why his biggest desire is to sow larger quantities and increase his productivity in order to set up a grocery store within his home. This would allow him to offer a favorable standard of living to his loved ones. The excitement he feels motivates him to continue striving everyday. This is his sixth loan with MFP and he is very enthusiastic of working with the members of his communal bank since they are very responsible and united. With the 2,500 Peruvian soles he is requesting he will buy pea seeds to sow and various sacs of manure to maintain his potato crop.
