A loan of $1,000 helped chemical inputs for his crops.

Segundo Héctor's story

Segundo is 64 years old, married, and has 5 children - 31 year-old Bolivia, 26 year-old Marithza, 24 year-old Edwin, 23 year-old Joffre, and 18 year-old Mayra. They live in the neighborhood of San Francisco de Rumí Pamba, an hour and a half from Cantón San Miguel in Bolivar province. Segundo is a member of the rural loan group "San Francisco de Rumi Pamba", which is composed of 25 members in total, of whom the majority are farmers. Segundo works in agriculture, and this is the primary source of income for his family. Among the most outstanding crops of his area are potatoes, wheat, barley, and corn. He sells his produce in the community to the traders who are in the area. Segundo is requesting a loan to buy chemical inputs for his crops. His goal is to improve his family's standard of living and to see his children become professionals. One of the challenges that he faces is to sell all the produce that he grows. In his free time he teaches his children to live good lives.
