A loan of $1,800 helps a pregnant member of the vulnerable Egyptian community to pay pregnancy medical clinic expenses.

Lorela's story

Lorela is a 30-year-old member of the vulnerable Egyptian community living in Elbasan city. Lorela is married and a mother of two children, aged 11 and 10 years old, and she is pregnant with her third child. She is asking for Kiva lenders' support to pay pregnancy medical clinic expenses so she will be sure that she will have all needed check ups and have a healthy baby.

Lorela has been working as a seamstress for several years now. She even attempted several months ago to have her own sewing shop, but it was not successful, especially given the pandemic period. Lorela hopes she will have Kiva lenders' support for these crucial expenses for her pregnancy.

This loan is special because:

It helps heavily marginalized Roma and Egyptian women create better lives for their families.
