A loan helped to build a household latrine and buy its necessaries.

Sokha's story

Sokha is a 37-year-old man from Baray District. He is chief of a team of construction workers and the main income provider for his family. He typically makes around 10 USD each day. His construction business is busy as he continues to get more business from existing and new customers because of his good reputation, and his wife is farming to earn additional income.

Sokha doesn't have a safe latrine at his home, and he is therefore unable to help his family improve their sanitation and personal hygiene. He has requested a 8,000,000 KHR loan to build a household latrine and buy its necessaries. Thanks to the water loan program offered by HKL with a special interest rate, he is encouraged to focus on healthy living conditions, safeguard the health of his family and protect the environment.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to clean, renewable energy sources, like solar and biogas.
