A loan helped to buy a dairy cow and food.

Maria Teresa's story

Thanks to the loan she received, María, a woman from the country, has managed to move her business forward. She raises cattle to fatten and for milk. She's increased her business a little. She started with just one cow, but little by little was able to expand with her prior loan.

She had six cows but with recent events she had to sell some of them to meet her household needs. For that reason María is seeking a new loan from the institution to buy a dairy cow and food. This will allow her to recoup her animals and the income they represent.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Laurie Hiller.

This loan is special because:

It aims to reach vulnerable refugee populations in an isolated region.
