A loan helped a women-owned business overcome the challenges posed by the COVID-19 crisis.

Emily's story

I've been doing photography for a couple years now. Myself and my husband met after college, both working in FL. We dated, got engaged, and moved to Madison in 2016. The following year we got married and I was able to focus on photography as a fun side gig. I initially started a blog and realized I enjoyed being behind the camera way more than being in front of it! I started photographing family and friends to gain some practice which led to photographing my first wedding. I have a love for love (all love) and wanted to be able to document it for others. I believe not everyone is completely comfortable in front of a camera, like myself, but getting people to relax and have fun can lead to photos that capture themselves actually being happy, genuine smiles, and that's always my goal. Once I got pregnant I knew I wanted to leave my corporate job in pursuit of my own dream. Showing my daughter that women can have their own business and have it be successful (in spite of being in the middle of a pandemic!) is one of the best gifts I can give her.
