A loan of $700 helps to buy corn, pork meat, rice, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, and banana leaves.

Zulema Elizabeth's story

Over 5 consecutive years, Zulema has been making and selling nacatamales and tortillas. She is a merchant who is married and is the mother of a child, who is her greatest treasure. Her customers say that they really enjoy her tasty products, and she has become very well-known in her community in and in the surrounding areas. On Saturdays, they come looking to buy her nacatamales.

Zulema has already had experience with Kiva loans that she obtained through MiCredito. She used these loans to buy corn, lime, griddles, potatoes, rice and meat. Thanks to this financial support, she was able to increase her production. Now, Zulema wants to strengthen her business, and so she has returned again to MiCredito and Kiva to request a loan to buy 100 pound sacks of corn, pork meat, rice, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, and banana leaves.

In the near future, Zulema plans to become the owner of a much bigger business.
