Rebecca's story

Rebecca (a repeat Kiva borrower) is 42 years old and lives in Kitale, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands that favor large-scale grain farming, dairy, and horticultural farming. She is very hardworking and determined to succeed.

Rebecca is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has been working on her farm for the past 10 years. Through farming, she has turned her life around.

She is borrowing this loan to buy farming inputs and improve her production, which has been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainties and disrupting food supply chains.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is on the front lines in combating this pandemic through supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs during this difficult period.

Be inspired to support her with a loan today to turn her life around.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
