A loan of $775 helped purchase of freezers.

Kadidia's story

Mrs. Kadidia M. is 51 years old, married and the mother of four children. She lives at her husband’s place with her children in a traditional family with two other co-spouses. They live in the neighborhood of Hamdallaye in Segou (fourth administrative region of the Republic of Mali).

She did not attend school and came from a family of retailers. She started very early in the business with her mother who sold fish. After several years of apprenticeship next to her mother and until her wedding, she decided to develop by herself by conducting a business of fruit juices and ice cream.
She has been in this business for 10 years now and enjoys a large customer base and notoriety.

With the intention to strengthen her production ability she appealed to Soro Yiriwaso. She has had this relationship for the last 30 months, after 5 group loans all fully reimbursed. This is her first individual loan and she would like to use it to buy 2 freezers.

She buys her supplies in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. Mrs. Kadidia M. sells her juices and ice cream for cash or on credit to customers made up of women and men. She is planning on making a monthly profit of 75,000 Francs CFA, which will allow her to provide for some of her expenses (clothing, soap, medications).
