Nora Esther's story

Nora Esther is an entrepreneur residing in the city of Barranquilla. It has been 13 years since she created her own enterprise, called Laboratorio Prolents Ltda, which is dedicated to making eye glasses for opticians in the region. The idea for the business came to Nora Esther because she had knowledge in this field and saw that the project of making eye glasses was a source for generating income in a secure and stable form. The market was expanding and, in fact, her impact on society is very positive. She has an agreement with opticians that allows the eye glasses to be offered to customers who need them at very good prices, especially for customers in old age .

Nora Esther has 3 employees. Her principal customers are neighbors, acquaintances, and people in Barranquilla. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she had to close momentarily, on orders from the national government. Now, she is in the process of reopening, complying with all relevant security protocols.

Nora Esther is requesting her 1st Kiva loan through the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation to invest in merchandise such as frames, glass, and to aid with general costs of the business.

Please help her obtain her business loan.
