A loan helped a member to get supplies of nails and padlocks for her hardware business.

Ukarimu Group's story

Ms. Neema is a client of the microfinance institution HEKIMA and presides over the 'banc villageois' names “UKARIMU”. She is 40, married, and the mother of five children, who are all in school. Her partner is a pastor.

A vendor of hardware products, she began this enterprise five years ago with startup funding from the Hekima program for supporting enterprises and has made progress within it.

With this new loan, she is going to stock up on nails and padlocks. This will serve to bolster her initial capital. The challenge in her business has to do with her customer base.

She would like to feed her family and to have her children continue with their schooling. So she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for supporting business owners lacking cash during this global crisis related to Covid-19. The photo features only the group leader because of Covid-19.
