Carlos Miguel is a 28 year old micro-entrepreneur and resident of the municipality of Soledad, where he lives with his spouse. He has a food stand as a business where he offers hot dogs, pizza and hamburgers. It has been in operation for about five years. He had the opportunity to start his business at a young age thanks to the support of his family. His customers are friends, people passing through and travellers amongst others. Carlos Miguel has a goal of opening other outlets and attracting more kinds of customers. With the worldwide spread of the COVID-19 pandemic his business has worsened because of health concerns and his income has lowered dramatically. He is currently applying for his first loan from Kiva through the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo which he will invest in the purchase of cold cuts, meat, bread, drinks and cover his rent expenses.
