A loan of $1,500 helps to buy sandals, sneakers, blouses, underwear, and flip-flops.

Gladys Margarita's story

For over twenty years Gladys has worked selling shoes and flip-flops as an important way of making a living and to improve the quality of life of her four children.

She counts on the unconditional support of her family in her valuable economic activity. Her business is very well known and very popular among different customers due to the quality of the shoes and clothing that are sold. She is a storekeeper who stands taking care of her store from six in the morning.

Gladys's previous experience with a loan from MiCredito, together with Kiva, allowed her to expand her inventory and earn more income. Now she is happy. In fact, once again she has turned to two organizations to request a loan to buy sandals, sneakers, blouses, underwear, and flip-flops.

In the not to distant future she wants to become self-supporting.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Matteo Modelli.
