A loan of $1,300 helps to buy pandanus for her weaving.

Taimi's story

Taimi is 55 years old. She is a mother of four grown ups, and a wife of a farmer. They live in their own home. Taimi and her daughter run a business of weaving, where they weave taovala and mats with white pandanus only, and sell it out locally and also overseas. She normally travels overseas and sells her weaving to friends and family.

This pandemic really affected Taimi's business. She earns more money in selling her weaving overseas than locally, but due to the lock-down, she cannot travel anymore and therefore can sell her weaving only locally with a cheaper price.

She is hoping to use her loan money to buy pandanus for her weaving. Taimi's dream is to become a successful business woman and become a good influence to her family.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
