Chanthy's story

Chantry, age 40, is an experienced farmer located in the rural area of Kien Svay district, Kandal province. She has an occupation selling vegetables in the local market. She works very hard and seriously in growing vegetables at her own house. Every morning, she gets up early and supplies watering to her vegetables and collects them to sell at the market. Her husband helps her in earning more income by having an occupation as a paid laborer.

Because of the shortage of her finances, she has requested a loan of $1,500 to dig a well. She is hoping that she won’t face a water shortage in the future or she won't have to spend much time collecting water from the far-distant areas anymore. She expresses her thanks to all Kiva lenders for showing their interest in poor people like her to improve sanitation and safe drinking.
