A loan of $8,550 helps a member to buy products for her convenience store, such as drinks, bakery items, vegetables, fruits, canned goods and other items.

Barrio Unido Group's story

This group is in the 18th cycle of the committee of women program, in which they all work to improve themselves and get ahead. They have set a goal for themselves to grow, not only financially, but as individuals, so that their loved ones lack nothing.

Among them, Nilda is worth mentioning. She works in sales. She has a small convenience store in her house. She says she started with very little, but has been growing little by little with daily sacrifice. Despite everyday obstacles she is improving through her effort and wants to continue doing so. For that reason she gives her all.

Nilda says that due to the Covid-19 pandemic her business was affected. She couldn't work normally, which affected her business. She seeks this loan to invest in the purchase of products for her store, such as drinks, bakery items, vegetables, fruits, canned goods and other items, in order to continue with her work.

Note that only one person appears in the photo although this is a group loan. A picture of the group wasn't possible because of social distancing guidelines due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
