A loan of $7,600 helps a member to refinance her debt and buy charcoal in bulk.

Mujeres Unidas Group's story

This group is called Mujeres Unidas (United Women), since that is what they are: united women who fight for their families and are ready to work more to achieve their goals and get ahead.

One of them worth mentioning is Dalila, who works selling charcoal. Although her business is modest, it has helped support her household and her family. She mentions that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the total quarantine that lasted in the country for months, she was not able to work normally, which substantially affected her business as well as her income. Today she has a goal of rising up despite the difficulties, overcoming them, and continuing to work to help her family. She requested this loan in order to refinance her debt, and to buy more charcoal to sell, since she wants to continue her undertaking.

Note: In the photo there is only one person, but this is a group loan. It was not possible to take a group photo while avoiding large gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this group: Librada, Teresa, Julia, Daidy, Felipa, Lucila, Justina, Ididora, Liz, Ana, Jessica, Nidia, Loida, Perla, Mirtha, Lilian, Nancy, Kattia, Dalila, Natividad, Ageda, Marlis
