Sope Dabakh Group's story

SOPE DABAKH is a group of 5 businesswomen. Its leader is Mme Ndondy B., 35 years old, and it was formed just five months ago. The women formed the group to develop their relationship and to help each other.

Ndondy B. is the mother of two children. She sells vegetables in the market, and has also been selling them for ten years from a table at her home.
She learned the trade from her mother, who still sells vegetables in the central market at Thiès. She engages in this business to help her husband manage their household and to take care of her famiL.'s needs.

The other group members are:
- Mme Seynabou W., the treasurer, who has been selling cloth (Wax, Basin, Khartoum……) door-to-door for ten years.
- Mme Awa N., born in 1967,has been selling oil, peanut butter and ground peanuts naflay) for 12 years, also door-to-door.
- Mme Maguette W. has been selling cosmetics, perfumes, bags and stockings door-to-door for four years.
- Mme Salimata L., 39 years old, has been selling cosmetics and stockings from her home for five years.
