B. Adiatou's story

B. Adiatou K. was born in 1982 in Kétou in Bénin and is married to Idrissou Youssouf, an accountant. The couple has two children, who attend school and who live with their parents in the Dandji area of Cotonou, the economic capital of Bénin. The family moved to this area about ten years ago. Adiatou helps her husband thanks to the revenue she gets from her business. Adiatou only attended elementary school. In order to pay her bills, Adiatou sells fabric, jewelry, purses and shoes in her shop in Dandji. Adiatou stocks up in Nigeria and in Lomé in Togo, two neighboring states of Bénin. Adiatou has already benefited from two loans from ALIDé, and has repaid them both. Adiatou’s clientele continues to grow, and Adiatou wants to increase her level of business and better respond to the needs of her clientele. This is why Adiatou seeks another loan from ALIDé, which would allow her to increase her buying power.
