A loan helped a member to buy sheep for resale.

Tinaree Bocar Group's story

Ms. Dienabou, 53, is holding the sheep in her hands in the photo. She is the leader of a group of nine women who are all engaged in the livestock business.

Dienabou is married and a mother of five children aged 3 to 15 years, of whom three go to school. She has lots of experience in this field that she has been in for 12 years. Her partner is a nurse at the health care centre in her locality.

Dienabou wants to expand her livestock business and have a big farm to become the first supplier of meat in her area. This will enable her to become a better mother by helping her husband in taking care of the family's needs. As she is an educated person but hasn't had the chance to go to the best schools in the country — she dreams of giving her children this opportunity.

Like all the women in her area, she finds it hard to access a microfinance institution to be able to finance her business.

In this group: Dienabou, Maimouna, Diary, Mariama, Fatoumata, Barkatou, Binta, Diariatou, Mariama
