A loan of $475 helps to buy farm inputs, such as certified quality seeds and fertilizer, to improve her tea farming.

Hyivonne's story

Hyivonne (25) is happy to be joined with Kiva and has acknowledged that Kiva loans are transforming the lives of poor Kenyan farmers. She is a happy woman who has always dreamed of making the world a better place. She has a clear insight into her purpose, and that led her to begin farming eight years ago. On her farm, she rears cows. She also grows tea and different varieties of forage crops.

Hyivonne is content with the farming way of life. She is an enterprising woman. Although she never had formal education, or formal employment, she has always worked hard on her farm and has always been able to provide her children and family with decent meals.

The Litein area has favorable conditions for tea farming. That is why she is seeking a loan to buy seeds so that she can expand her tea farming. Because of the good roads, a good climate, and a good transportation network, she is sure that she will reap maximum profits and be able to increase her business. She is very thankful in advance for your help and contribution.

She is looking forward to your warm response and thanks you for your gesture of goodwill in her life.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
