A loan of $300 helped to buy merchandise to stock her store.

Obdulia's story

Obdulia is 63 years old, and lives alone in her own house. She has 2 children; they are adult and independent but at times they visit her. She has a shop/bookstore, a business that she has been working in for 9 years, and which has been very productive for her. She does not have competition close by, which gives her a good advantage in attracting customers. She enjoys her work very much, since it is tranquil, and she can carry it out from the comfort of her home. This allows her also to take care of the household chores. There are moments when the work is difficult, due to the fact that to restock her store with merchandise she must go to one of the very busy wholesale markets to buy her products, and then carry them back in large bags and boxes. But her desire to get ahead with her business gives her the strength to continue working. This is her first loan with MFP, and she assures us that she will be very punctual with all of her payments. With the loan that she requests she will buy a larger quantity of merchandise to stock her shop and bookstore.
