Lucelia's story

Lucelia S. is a young woman of 19 years old. She has a 1 year old baby and lives in the zone of Maica Central, stop 7, located in the periphery of the Cercado province in Cochabamba department, Bolivia.

Lucelia sells men's clothes, specifically jeans. Her mother travelled to Spain 2 years ago and since then Lucelia has been under the care of her aunt. However her friends' bad influence and her own ingenuity let her to a situation where she had a baby a year ago. Since then, Lucelia has worked very hard. She gets up very early to buy dozens of jeans, and later sells them in a stand in the La Paz market, a very popular market in Cochabamba. She sells all her clothes in unit prices, and in this way day by day earns her living. Lucelia always carries out her work with the company of her baby, as she doesn't have anyone to care for it.

Lucelia is seeking a loan to purchase more merchandise, and in turn generate more earnings, and continue investing them. She is a very empresarial woman, and greatly desires to improve her situation. She hasn't ever studied a career, but knows how to administer her earnings. Her dream is to have her own large shop with a greater variety of products to sell, as she would then have better earnings, and wouldn't have many problems being able to sustain her baby.
