Vecinas Unidas 4,5,6 Group's story

Regina is the coordinator of her group, Vecinas Unidas (United Neighbors), and her story is representative of her group and of Esperanza's Haitian and Dominican clients generally (many of whom recently emigrated to the Dominican Republic from Haiti). Her group is located in the lush, rugged Samana peninsuL., an area with a nascent tourism industry, where running water (none of which is potable) and electricity are unreliable. She makes her home here in a simple, rented structure with her long-term partner and two children.

Regina is excited to be taking her second loan with Kiva partner, Esperanza, after having successfully repaid her previous loan and grown her business. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business selling jewelry by purchasing earrings, necklaces and bracelets for her store. She will use the profits to purchase medicine, school supplies and a computer for her children. She will also save towards her dream of building her own home. She thanks you all for your support.

In this group: Regina, Adelaida, Yunior, Santa , Berkys , Juana, Jackelyn, Edward, Apolonia, Teresa, Carlos, Constancia, Eufemia, Matina , Rosa
