A loan of $7,800 helps a member to buy meat, baked goods, vegetables, fruits, canned goods, and other products.

San Jose Group's story

The San José group was formed by neighbors in the town of Caacupé who are searching for a way to be able to improve their quality of life and that of their families. They are in their eighth cycle in the women's committee program.

Teresa is one of the members of the committee. She sells food in her small restaurant that she operates out of her house. She says that due to the mandatory quarantine caused by Covid-19, she had not started opening her store. She has just recently started to open and is having low sales but has devised a plan to do lunch deliveries by order.

She is requesting this loan to be able to restructure her account and also be able to buy supplies to be able to make her food like meat, baked goods, vegetables, fruit, canned foods, and other products.

Note: Although only one person appears in the photo, this is a group loan. It was not possible to take a group photo due to having to avoid group gatherings during the Covid-19 pandemic.
